NAOMI GOLAN: ISRAEL FASHION ART 1948-2008: OVER 400 STUNNING PICS.

Hi, today I would like to express my appreciation to senior lifestyle writer Naomi Gutking-Golan for a great article she published in yesterday's Makor Rishon newspaper about "ISRAEL
FASHION ART 1948-2008" album-book". In her article Naomi writes that "the author shows a very deep approach and a very wide scope of knowledge regarding the connection between garments and culture.....add to it over 400 stunning color photos and you'll realise why the book is recommended not only to fashionistas but also to visual culture lovers and to people with artistic and esthetic sensitivities .

Naomi illustrates her article with a lovely Fini Leitersdorf creation for Maskit from the chapter devoted to the use of coins in fashion since the Yemenite and Beduine coin embelished garments to a present-day a-symetric red carpet style gown designed by Shai Shalom. The Maskit picture was taken by Peter Hertsog for a 1968 Export Institute fashion cataloge cover.

ISRAEL FASHION ART - 1948-2008 IN NOVOSTY NEWSPAPER: UNIQUE ONE OF A KIND BOOK

Hi, several interesting things have been happening lately to ISRAEL FASHION ART 1948-2008. "שיכרון עיצובים - אמנות האופנה בישראל".
One of them was an item about it published by Israel's OPRA, TV star and journalist ODETTA in MAARIV's "Sofshavua" magazine. Odetta wrote about the historic album-book that it is an amazing book which is a lot of fun to leaf through and learn from. She concluded her item with a big: Kudos! Thanks so very much Odetta.
Another important report about the book was published by former editor-in-chief of Vesti's ."Charm" magazine Luba Fledcher, in "Novosti''s "Siluette" magazine. In her three pages article LUBA FLEDCHER wrote: "The book can be read as a fiction book and as an encyclopedia or a textbook, or one can browse admiring the photos....This unique in its kind volume which is being refered to today as the Bible of Israeli Fashion...is the first and certainly successful attempt to reflect the history, culture, and politics of our country...and establish Israel on the map of the fashion-world. Thanks so very much dear Luba."

DORI CSENGERI, ARTISTIC JEWELRY DESIGNER, SEX & THE CITY, AND MY LATEST TV APPEARANCE

Hi, today I would like to share with you a the creations of a very unique artistic jewelry designer. But before that I would like to thank fashion editor Neri Avidan-Sela of the ACHBAR HA-IR magazine for her article about "ISRAEL FASHION ART 1948-2008"
"שיכרון עיצובים - אמנות האופנה בישראל"
in this weekend's issue. Neri wrote about the historic fashion album that "It is full of pictures and captivating facts and deserves the attention of every fashion-lover who should understand that the most important aspect of creation is Know Thyself".Many thanks, Neri.
I would also like to express my appreciation to TV personality Liat Regev for inviting me to talk
about the book in her program in Israel's TV's Ch. 1. Liat Regev showed about 20 photos from the book introducing it as "an exciting book which intoxicates the senses". At the end of the interview refering to the artistic rose choker I was wearing she inquired "where is this fantastic thing you are wearing from?" - at this point I told her that a photo of the piece designed by Dori Csengeri was in the book as well adding that Dori Csengeri is a very successful artist whose unique jewelry is exhibited in the international arena both in prestigious stores and in magazines. Last year she was invited to do a special collection for Swarowski and in one of the "Sex and the City" programs her earings were featured on Cynthia Nixon seen here in a picture taken by Lea Peled. Phographer of the rose-choker is Tali Shani who had taken the picture originally for an article about my wardrobe in Haaretz daily newspaper . .
