Hi,  In my "Israel Fashion Art" album-book  "שיכרון עיצובים - אמנות האופנה בישראל" one of the chapters
is devoted to hats: "From Pioneer Hat to Wonder-Hat". Since I discuss in it not only hats but also
various attitudes towards them such as Actor Charles Laughton's humorous remark in the film "Witness for the Persecution" - I also quoted a couple of lines from poet and Rock star Bob Dylan's song "Leopard-Skin Pill-box Hat" which I thought were quite amusing and inspiring:

[...]Well, you look so pretty in it
Honey, can I jump on it sometime?
[...]You know it balances on your head
Just like a mattress balances
On a bottle of wine....
[...]Well, I saw him
Makin’ love to you
You forgot to close the garage door
You might think he loves you for your money
But I know what he really loves you for
it’s your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat...

Only recently did I discover who Dylan wrote this song about: 1965's "It Girl""Edie" Sedgwick (1943 – 1971) who was an American actress, socialite, fashion model and heiress. She is best known for being one of Andy Warhol's superstars. Sedgwick became known as "The Girl of the Year" in 1965 after starring in several of Warhol's short films in the 1960s. She was dubbed an "It Girl" while Vogue magazine also named her a "Youthquaker". And according to author Truman Capote she was everything pop-artist Warhol wanted to be.

I find it quite exciting to discover "new" additional cultural links/associations to the book.

DORI CSENGERI, ARTISTIC JEWELRY DESIGNER, SEX & THE CITY, AND MY LATEST TV APPEARANCE

Hi, today I would like to share with you a the creations of a very unique artistic jewelry designer. But before that I would like to thank fashion editor Neri Avidan-Sela of the ACHBAR HA-IR magazine for her article about "ISRAEL FASHION ART 1948-2008"
"שיכרון עיצובים - אמנות האופנה בישראל"
in this weekend's issue. Neri wrote about the historic fashion album that "It is full of pictures and captivating facts and deserves the attention of every fashion-lover who should understand that the most important aspect of creation is Know Thyself".Many thanks, Neri.
I would also like to express my appreciation to TV personality Liat Regev for inviting me to talk
about the book in her program in Israel's TV's Ch. 1. Liat Regev showed about 20 photos from the book introducing it as "an exciting book which intoxicates the senses". At the end of the interview refering to the artistic rose choker I was wearing she inquired "where is this fantastic thing you are wearing from?" - at this point I told her that a photo of the piece designed by Dori Csengeri was in the book as well adding that Dori Csengeri is a very successful artist whose unique jewelry is exhibited in the international arena both in prestigious stores and in magazines. Last year she was invited to do a special collection for Swarowski and in one of the "Sex and the City" programs her earings were featured on Cynthia Nixon seen here in a picture taken by Lea Peled. Phographer of the rose-choker is Tali Shani who had taken the picture originally for an article about my wardrobe in Haaretz daily newspaper . .
